Health Services gold bar

Provide mental health support services for FREE to all enrolled students at UCI.  Services include: individual, couples, group counseling, urgent care, crisis response, consultation and outreach program.  To schedule an appointment, please call (949) 824-6457, Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm.

SHC
Student Health Center (SHC)

Offers a comprehensive outpatient clinic staffed by several health professionals.  Also offers basic radiology & clinical laboratory services, insurance consultation, and an on-site pharmacy.  Provides mental health and counseling, eye clinic, dental clinic, and several specialty doctors.  Services are available to all registered UCI students.  USHIP students must first be seen here for referrals.  Please call: (949) 824-5301 for further information about services and clinics, or visit their website.

SHC
Health Education Center (HEC)

Provides individual consultations for students about sexual health, alcohol, drugs, as well as nutrition and quitting smoking.  Also offers anonymous HIV testing, volunteer programs, resources and computer self-help center to help achieve health lifestyle goals.  You can access services either by appointment or drop-in.  Offers e-CHUG, a brief self-assessment that gives you detailed and personalized feedback about your use of alcohol and offers helpful resources within the UCI community. e-TOKE is another brief self-assessment that gives you feedback about your use of marijuana.  All information utilized in these assessments are strictly confidential.  For Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings held at HEC, click here.

USHIP (Undergraduate Students)
All students enrolled at UCI must have health insurance coverage.  This insurance plan is included in your student registration fees each quarter, and enrollment is automatic when you pay your fees.  You may waive out of this plan if you can demonstrate and verify health coverage.  The Student Health Center is the primary care facility for students covered by USHIP.  All medical care must begin at Student Health if you have USHIP.  If you need medical services that are not provided by Student Health, you will be referred to a qualified provider in the community.  For more detailed information about the plan, please read the USHIP Brochure.  If you have questions regarding USHIP, please contact the USHIP Coordinator at (949) 824-7748.  If you need to print out your Insurance ID Card, click here.
GSHIP (Graduate Students)
