About the UCI Clinical Social Worker

• The UCI Clinical Social Worker (CSW) is a part of the UCI Student Affairs Counseling and Health Services team.  The CSW provides private, confidential support for individual students to access and manage services during a medical, physical, familial, emotional stress or crisis.

• The UCI faculty and staff can call upon the CSW for advice, confidential assessment and recommendations on how to handle a sensitive student situation.

• The Clinical Social Worker helps students navigate their relationships and responsibilities with UCI academic and administrative departments and when necessary, with outside community agencies during difficult and challenging times.

• Mobilizes necessary campus and community resources to maximize the student's physical, social and emotional well-being.

• Coordinates and monitors delivery of services to help students meet academic and personal goals.

• The CSW works with each student to help enhance their problem-solving and coping skills.
